CrimeTime

Privacy Policy

Effective 11 June 2026 · CrimeTime is operated by AJ Industries (Australia)

1. Who we are

CrimeTime is a CCTV time-offset calculator for police officers, investigators, and security professionals, operated by AJ Industries ("we", "us"). We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. Contact: admin@aj-industries.co.

2. What we collect

  • Account and profile: your name, email address, password (stored only as a cryptographic hash by our authentication provider), phone number, rank or title, badge or registration number, agency, jurisdiction, timezone, and an optional signature image.
  • Site records you create: addresses, and the names and contact details of CCTV owners or witnesses you record. You are responsible for having a lawful basis to record this information about other people.
  • Evidence material: photographs of CCTV screens and recorders taken or uploaded in the app, timestamps, calculated offsets, and certificates. Camera photos are re-encoded on your device before upload, which removes embedded metadata such as GPS location.
  • Technical data: authentication cookies and basic logs needed to run and secure the service. We do not run advertising or cross-site tracking.

3. Where your data lives

Application data is stored with Supabase on infrastructure located in Sydney, Australia. The web application is served by our hosting provider, which may use a global content delivery network to deliver pages. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties except the service providers needed to operate CrimeTime (database and storage, hosting, and email delivery), or where required by law.

4. Why we collect it

To operate the service: authenticate you, perform time-offset calculations, store your records, generate court-ready certificates that identify the issuing officer, and let any party verify a certificate's integrity.

5. Retention

Your records are kept while your account exists, so they remain available as evidence material. If you delete your account, your profile, sites, photos, and calculations are deleted. Certificates are an exception: the certificate record (the data printed on the certificate and its cryptographic fingerprint) is retained permanently, including after account deletion, so that previously issued court documents remain verifiable. This retention is fundamental to the service's purpose.

6. Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Records are isolated per account at the database level. Two-factor authentication is required before any record can be saved. No system is perfectly secure; notify us immediately at admin@aj-industries.co if you suspect unauthorised access.

7. Your rights

You may access and correct your information at any time through your profile, and request a copy or deletion of your data by emailing admin@aj-industries.co. If you believe we have mishandled your information, contact us first; you may also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

8. Changes

We will post any changes to this policy on this page with a new effective date. Material changes will be flagged in the app.
