Terms of Service

1. The service
CrimeTime calculates the offset between a CCTV system's clock and real time, stores related records, and produces certificates with a cryptographic fingerprint so their integrity can be verified. The service is currently provided free of charge. By creating an account you accept these terms.
2. Accounts and security
You must provide accurate details and keep your credentials secure. Two-factor authentication is required before records can be saved, and you are responsible for keeping access to your authenticator. If you lose access, contact admin@aj-industries.co; identity checks will apply before any account recovery.
3. Your responsibilities
- CrimeTime computes results from the values you enter. You are responsible for reading the CCTV display accurately and confirming the baseline before saving.
- You must have lawful authority to photograph CCTV equipment and to record other people's contact details, consistent with your duties and applicable law.
- You must not use the service for any unlawful purpose, attempt to access other users' data, or interfere with the operation of the service.
4. Certificates and evidence
Certificates record the inputs you provided and the calculation performed, sealed with a SHA-256 fingerprint at the moment of issue. The fingerprint proves the certificate has not been altered since issue; it does not, by itself, prove the accuracy of values you entered. CrimeTime is an investigative aid, not legal advice, and we make no representation about the admissibility of any document in any proceeding. Certificate records are retained permanently, including after account deletion, so issued documents remain verifiable.
5. Availability and changes
The service is provided "as is" and may change, be interrupted, or be withdrawn. We may introduce paid tiers in future; existing free functionality will not be removed from under an active investigation without reasonable notice.
6. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, including the Australian Consumer Law, we exclude all liability for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the service. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to resupplying the service. Nothing in these terms excludes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
7. Termination
You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms or threaten the security of the service.
8. General
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. If any provision is unenforceable, the remainder continues in effect. Questions: admin@aj-industries.co.
